Starlink has significantly transformed the world. Millions of people who previously had no even hope of ever accessing the internet are now connected. Starlink is one of the greatest achievements for all of humanity, made possible by Elon Musk and SpaceX. Thank you! “Starlink has done more than any NGO to lift people out of poverty by connecting them with a means of education and a market for their goods & services via the Internet.” Elon Musk

Here is what Starships mass-to-orbit will be doing on the same timescale as these missions, under some pretty conservative assumptions. SpaceX own plans are even more aggressive. I fear the European plans are not nearly ambitious enough. We need to go further. Read my analysis: planetocracy.org/p/mass-valu…
Macron, at 🇫🇷 Paris Space Summit, just put dates on Europe’s space ambition: 🚀 2028: 🇪🇺 Nyx cargo capsule docking with the ISS 🌕 2031: 🇪🇺 Argonaut lunar lander on the Moon 👨‍🚀 2036: 🇪🇺 European crewed capsule launching from Kourou The goal would be to build Europe’s own end-to-end human spaceflight capability. Extremely ambitious. As it should be.

Grok filed an irs form for me to keep me qualified for some refund of penalties if a lawsuit is settled this year…. Idk I didn’t understand but grok found the form, told me how to fill it out and efile it in about ten minutes. Would have taken half a dozen calls with my tax prep and accountant to sort out.

Something is happening in the Swedish election. With less than 1 week to go, the right-wing block is catching up. Just months ago, the left was leading with a huge margin. Now the Socialists have collapsed in the polls. It's very close between the left and the right now. I will keep you updated.

Last week, Tesla held an event in Austin introducing the two-seat, purpose-built Cybercab to its Robotaxi fleet, and then the following evening commercialized its first rides. Tesla disclosed that, in just six weeks, the Robotaxi fleet increased its unsupervised driving miles 2.6x, from the 380,000 reported during Tesla’s second-quarter earnings call to one million miles. On its site, Tesla posted a “Robotaxi interest form” aimed at commercial fleet buyers, asking respondents to flag interest in purchasing a Cybercab fleet. As ARK outlined in Big Ideas 2026, fleet owners are an important component of the robotaxi value chain. The Cybercab is central to scaling Tesla’s robotaxi service at competitive prices and, in ARK’s view, to expanding autonomous ride-hail into a multi-trillion-dollar opportunity. At scale, we project that robotaxis could be priced as low as $0.25 per mile—approximately one-tenth the cost of human-driven ride-hail, as shown below, and roughly one-third the cost of personal car ownership. @TashaARK details more in this week's newsletter ⬇️

After experiencing Cybercab for the past few days in Austin, I think the biggest thing people are missing is the zero-sum game built into Uber. You have two people sharing one environment, with different preferences. The driver likes the temperature at 66. I want 72. If I get more comfortable, he gets less comfortable. He likes his music. I want mine. He wants the windows open. I want them closed. I take a few extra minutes getting to the car, and those are minutes another human spends waiting for me. There’s this constant little tug of war. My comfort and convenience can come at the expense of his. And I don’t blame the driver. It’s his working environment. He’s in that car all day. Of course he has preferences. That’s why I just let him play whatever music he wants. I don’t want my comfort to come at his expense. We’ve gotten so accustomed to this that we barely notice the tension anymore. Then you take a Cybercab. I set the temperature to 72. Nobody gets less comfortable. I play my Spotify at the volume I want. Nobody has to give up their music. I grab my Starbucks and take a couple of minutes to walk over, within the pickup window. Nobody is sitting there getting irritated with me. The car has no competing preferences. That is a profound change in the experience. I can optimize the ride around what makes me comfortable without asking another person to sacrifice what makes them comfortable. And you feel it. You get in, lean back, and relax. There’s no negotiation. No wondering whether your request is going to annoy someone. That whole layer of social tension disappears. I think this is a huge part of Cybercab’s value. Removing that zero-sum dynamic changes what the service feels like at its core. Once people experience that, I think a lot of them are going to have a very hard time going back to Uber.

Larry, a 98-year-old, just bought a new @Tesla Model Y, and he uses FSD (Supervised) to drive him everywhere. His first car was a 1931 Ford Model A haha. He uses Grok to navigate. "It has no problems. In fact, the other day FSD stopped when a chipmunk was crossing the road." Definitely a video worth checking out: piped.video/watch?v=aqVrSErW…
