I love when the hard-hitting cosmic realities sink in for people and pique their interest....and there are sextillions of other G-type stars in the observable universe broadly similar to our own.

I had the chance to talk to the head of the Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) Tesla team that developed the process, machines, materials and production line responsible for the Cybercab exterior (and some interior) plastic panels. What is RIM? Reaction injection molding (RIM) is a manufacturing process that injects two liquid chemicals into a mold to create strong, lightweight plastic parts. The primary benefits to Tesla? Tesla uses Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) for the Cybercab primarily to eliminate the traditional automotive paint shop, which is historically one of the most expensive, space-consuming, and environmentally taxing parts of car manufacturing. Tesla's goal for mass production is a highly compact, parallel modular assembly system called the "unboxed" process. By skipping the massive infrastructure of a paint shop, Tesla can reduce the factory footprint by roughly 50%. Since the colored panels come out of the molds nearly complete, they don't have to follow a strict sequential painting order and can be easily bolted on toward the end of assembly, minimizing the risk of factory scratches. In the Tesla application for Cybercab, the RIM gold exterior body panels have a underlying reinforced plastic inner support panel that is plastic laser welded (& some industrial adhesives) bonded to the outer panel. When I first saw the early production tests, I noticed there were visible "distortions" where the contact points occurred and this detracted from the overall look of the Cybercab. The team worked very hard to address this issue and made a number of production process modifications that virtually eliminated this issue and I can say the Cybercabs I saw and rode in at the Launch Event looked exceptionally clean. Amazing work by the Plastics team to not only develop this process and the machinery and materials used, but to refine the production process to get such an amazing result! Thanks to @XanderSky for making this video clip!

The Sun is ~100% of solar system mass
Elon really put into perspective just how insanely massive the Sun is compared to Earth The Sun contains ~99.86% of all the mass in the entire Solar System Earth is basically a rounding error We live on this tiny rock next to an object so massive that almost everything else in the Solar System barely registers And that giant ball of nuclear fusion is dumping an unimaginable amount of energy into space every second

The level of fraud being uncovered is staggering.
BREAKING 🚨 Georgian national charged with conspiring to launder proceeds of a $1.3 BILLION health care fraud scheme tied to Operation Gold Rush - the largest health care fraud case ever prosecuted by DOJ. Defendant allegedly worked for a Russian-based criminal organization that orchestrated a multi-billion-dollar scheme to defraud Medicare and other health insurers. Fraudulent claims allegedly relied, in part, on stolen identities of elderly and disabled Americans, generating millions in proceeds that were ultimately transferred overseas. I just paid for 2 drinks at the bar with 𝕏 Money after spending the entire day riding around Austin in Cybercabs. This is one of the biggest reasons I invested in 𝕏. I don’t look at 𝕏 as just a social media app like many do. I believe Elon is building a place where eventually your entire financial life can live here. You earn $ money here. You send $ money here. You pay for things here. You invest here. You run your entire business here. And tonight, I literally used $ money I earned on 𝕏 to pay for drinks in the real world. I know people will say that vision sounds crazy today. A lot of things Elon builds sound crazy… until they work. And personally, betting on Elon has worked out pretty damn well for me. He’s NEVER lost me $ money from backing him. So yes, I believe he’s going to make my 𝕏 investment back too… that many said was super overpriced at $44B. One day, I believe managing your entire financial life through 𝕏 won’t sound that crazy as it may today.

The future of transport
I've now done a total of 3 hours riding around in @Tesla’s Cybercab and spent a total of $92.51. That travel time would have cost me $200 with Ubers. My longest ride has been ~40 minutes. I legitimately can't come up with any major complaints for FSD V15. None. I’ve spoken to a handful of other people here who say the same. I didn't need to call rider support once. No weird maneuvers, jitteriness, or hesitation. I do think pickup and drop-off locations could use some tweaking (same for Model Y) as you need to walk a bit sometimes, but I think that will get better as V15 progresses. Two things you surprisingly get used to very quickly are having no rearview mirror and no side mirrors. For anyone else trying Cybercab for the first time, I encourage you to recline your seat all the way back and just close your eyes for a minute. Realizing that you can nap in the spot where a driver traditionally sat while the car drives you around with no steering wheel or pedals is a pretty surreal feeling.

This is "The Odyssey" as Homer intended. My longest, most intricate work to date. I pushed @grok @imagine to its absolute limits to create this 5-minute epic. What bothered me most about the recent adaptation was the omission of the Phaeacians and Princess Nausicaa, whom Odysseus told his story to in the original poem. I focused my rendition on the introduction to Nausicaa and his love for his family. The motive driving him was the memory he kept for so long, even when his journey tried to make him forget. As a husband and new father, that's something I felt deeply. I challenged myself to try to fit everything I could from the source material and used GROK for research. Hope you enjoy. Workflow and process coming soon. I'm working on a deep dive showing how I used @grok for research, scripting, and prompting. I used @imagine to animate and visualize every shot and bring this to life. Share it if you dig it! @elonmusk
